Lynne Bywater

Growing up on the bluffs near ravines on a street, known as ‘Oddities End’ has influenced Lynne’s lifelong appreciation of the arts, nature and the beauty inherent in everything touching the earth.

While teaching for The Scarborough Board of Education, Lynne attended OCA now OCAD in the summers earning an Art Supervisor’s certification. Lynne received an Art Council award for her focus on art and education.

After retirement, Lynne rediscovered Cedar Ridge Creative Centre and became a part of the wondrous world of clay.

The EastEndMakers collective formed during Covid,2022,  mounted a two week show,”Elemental”at Cedar Ridge Gallery in October 2023.

It was very well received.  Lynne is an active member of this wonderful group of artists.

For the past three years, the East End Makers have sold their work at the Toronto Guild Alive Arts and Culture Festival.

As a member of Toronto Potters, Lynne’s sculpture, “TEARS” was part of the 22nd Biennial juried exhibition held at The Gardiner Ceramic Museum. This hand built raku fired work depicts the horror of war. It sold during the show.

Lynne is also a member of Fusion Clay& Glass Ontario.

The Fusion weekend workshop ,SURFACE TECHNIQUES with Lesley McInally held in Deep River was a wonderful learning experience.

Since May 2024, Lynne’s hand built, ceramic and raku work has been shown and sold in three juried shows at The Jackalope Gallery in Toronto Beaches..and now Lynne Has joined The Jackalope’s family of artists
